How to get here from Bangkok
Flights from Bangkok to Koh Samui & ferry to Koh Phangan
The nearest airport to Koh Phangan is on the next island to us on Koh Samui Island, there are hourly flights from Bangkok starting at 6am throughout each day, flights are by Bangkok Airways and flying time about 50 minutes.
A connecting ferry will have to be taken from Koh Samui to Koh Phangan. There are lots of ferries from Koh Samui To Koh Phangan but arrival in Koh Samui before 2pm is suggested in order to make a connecting ferry, or a private charter ferry can be pre-arranged but this is an expensive way to get here. Ferry tickets can be purchased for the local ferry as you exit Koh Samui airport.

Flights from Bangkok to Surat Thani / Nakhon Si Thammarat & Ferry to Koh Phangan
A cheaper flight option is available with Air Asia or Nok Airways, they fly twice daily to Surat Thani (UST) or Nakhon Si Thammarat (NST) airports, both carriers offer combination flight and ferry tickets to Thong Sala Pier, Koh Phangan. Travel time is approximately 4.5 hours. the scheduled times and fares are listed on their respective web sites.
Train & Ferry from Bangkok to Koh Phangan
Trains leave Bangkok several times daily, the journey time is about 12 hours. Sleeping booths are available on some services. Leaving the train at Surat Thani, the transfer by coach or taxi from Surat Thani station to Donsak Pier takes about 1½ hours. From Donsak, the ferry journey takes 2-3 hours to Koh Phangan.
Bus & ferry from Bangkok to Koh Phangan
There are many bus services from Bangkok to Koh Phangan. Most of these are sleeper buses. They can be booked from travel agencies in Bangkok or by going to the central bus station (Sia Thai). The journey takes about 10 hours to Donsak, the ferry port for boats going to Koh Phangan. From Donsak, the journey takes around 2-3 hours to Koh Phangan. Usually, the ferry is included in the price of the bus.
Alternatively there are 2 companies that run luxury coach services from Bangkok to Chumphon, which takes about 6 hours. At Chumphon, you transfer to a large express boat that stops at Koh Tao before arriving at Koh Phangan. The boat journey from Chumphon to Koh Phangan takes about 2 ½ hours.
On arrival on Koh Phangan
From Thong Sala pier local taxis are widely available. Please ask the taxi to take you to Gecko Beach Villas in Hin kong beach. Tell the taxi that we are located approximately 100 metres after ‘Ananda Yoga Resort” and we are just before the new 7/11 on the beachside of the road. Shared Taxis are approximately 150 THB per person.
